Rumor has it Tiffany Will Release a New Album

Ah, Tiffany, the quintessential 80s pop star whose career tanked at the top over a fued about earnings. An emancipated minor whose self titled debut was marketed by hitting up shopping malls across America, a truly novel idea at the time, and a welcome departure from using Tiffany Necklaces shopping malls to host modeling auditions. Back then the competition was Debbie Gibson, as she used a cover of an old song "I think we're alone now" to win the hearts and minds of teenagers across the country Tiffany.

Unfortunately her career ended rather prematurely. Her second album had one top ten hit, "All This Time" and she did the equivalent of performing at a barmitzfa by agreeing to provide the voice for Judy Jetson in Jetsons the Movie. From there she tried everything from country music to appearing Tiffany Heart in Playboy to get attention. But I do want to hear her again, because she had a lot more to offer but was just caught up in some unfortunate circumstances and hadn't made the right moves at the time.

Few people remember that she was in both the British and American versions of the reality show "Hit Me Baby One More Time" (the latter of which she lost to hip-hop group American Development) and that she made an appearance on Celebrity Fit Club. Her last album, "Just Me" features some great dance tracks but wasn't the comeback album fans were looking for. Tiffany Here's to hoping that her next album is a hit and that we can relive some of that goodness that was the eighties.

I want these younger kids who think they have something new and different to know where their music comes from. To get a feel for what it was like when children didn't have their culture prepackaged for them and tied up with a nice colorful bow. A time when it didn't matter who designed what, and you could actually buy something like Tiffany 1837 without a brand name on it without being humiliated. At the time when presidential candidates didn't inspire artists to create a music video, the eighties, in all it's glory, for better or worse; yeah usually worse at the time but it seems so much better now. Oh it's been too long.
